For the Journey is Long, and the Roads are Winding

You’ve seen the postcards. You’ve had a taste of The Standard Images Co.’s brilliance, and now you’re thinking about what it took to craft such visually striking stories. Well, it doesn’t come easy.

Luckily for you, TheVibe was on hand to ask Arjun, Nishant and Ravikiran about what they needed to prepare to translate their vision into reality.



Here’s a List of 10 items that are a must-have for filmmakers with modest means who wish to do something like this. A Travel + Filming Gear cost-effective lineup for amateurs and intermediates.

  1. Any SLR that can shoot video/photo with any two lenses that you can get your hands on. Three lenses will be great.
    What they used: Nikon D800, Nikon D750 along with Nikkor 14-24 f2.8, Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 and Nikkor 70-200 f.28 lenses.
  2. Any tripod/mono pod. Sturdy ones that can deal with a little wind, and carry heavier lenses, are better.
    What they used: A Manfrotto Tripod and a Manfrotto Monopod
  3. Sound recorder if not a shotgun mike.
    What they used: Zoom H4N Recorder
  4. As many camera batteries as you can afford.
  5. A Rugged hard disk.
  6. Helmet with an extra visor.
    What they used: HJC/MT/SOL Riding Helmets
  7. Riding gear. This can be expensive, but it’ll keep you in one piece if you crash horribly.
    What they used: 
    Spartan and Royal Enfield Riding Gear(Top+Bottoms+shoes)
  8. Hiking boots + 3 layer all weather jacket

  9. Tents. 
  10. Humour – lots of it.
