Meet Harsha Narasimhamurthy, a wildlife photographer with a deep-rooted reverence for the creatures of the wild. Known as “The Cat Man” to his friends and associates, Harsha has an intrinsic talent for tracking big cats. With many accolades to his name, Harsha views photography as a digital form of painting- a skill that calls for a patient mind and a steady hand.
In his latest photo-series, Harsha explores the vibrant wildlife of the Kabini backwaters, part of the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve, which boasts a rich population of flora and fauna. The park is decorated with eucalyptus, teak and rosewood trees. During the summer, huge herds of elephants gather can be spotted as the sun sets over the water.
Harsha first visited the Kabini backwaters six years ago, when he fell in love with the forest while following and photographing a family of tigers in the heart of the park. Today, the park is home to the rare melanistic leopard and is one of the best locations for spotting black panthers in India.
Join Harsha as he strives to capture the raw beauty of Kabini through the lens of his camera.
